Internet Marketing Doesn’t Have to Be a Boy’s Club - BlogHer

As if I don’t have enough projects I’m involved with right now. . . I decided to join Blogher today. Blogher has been around for a while, and it’s a pretty cool site for women bloggers. You can post blog entries in any of their categories so you’re not limited to just blogging about one thing. But I’ve joined as Internet Marketing Badger and will be posting occasional pieces about making money online - with an eye toward helping women boost their online profits.

I posted an article called Internet Marketing Doesn’t Have to be a Boy’s Club today because, well, it doesn’t! I’d love to see more women get into Internet marketing because women are great communicators and many of them are clueless about how they can turn their writing, relating, and design skills into profit making activities online.

When I speak to women about making money online they too often offer me a blank look. Or they think of it only in terms of having a simple portfolio site for your business showcasing some of your credits or work.

They generally don’t GET the concept that websites can be big money makers, and that learning how to market on the Internet could help them better handle those expanding mortgage payments or college tuition for their children.

Because so many women take time off from work to have children at some point, and their earning power often suffers for it, I believe women need to be learning Internet marketing skills more than ever. It’s an empowering path for any woman to start building profit channels with websites, blogs, or free blogs on a third party site like Blogger or Squidoo or Hubpages.

And not only that - it’s a helluva lot of fun, too!
